BeAstro is registered Canadian non-profit (Cor # 1266780-1) operating in York Region. We specialize in training undergraduates who want to have careers in education, and connecting them to help support schoolteachers.  Our Agents have the required VSS, and are CPR-C certified. 

Agents are undergraduate students in College/University who hope to pursue careers either directly in education or in related fields. They completed our robust training created by graduate students and PhD candidates,  have a clear VSS, and a CPR-C certification from a licensed provider.

No. We do not comment or create IEP's and are very mindful of students with them. Our volunteers are able to work alongside DSW's and EA's in the teachers class, ensuring not to get in the way, and only helping with tasks that are asked of them and that they were trained to do.

No. We do not perform or interfere with any other volunteer or paid position responsibilities (e.g., lunch delivery, cross-walk management, office administration, etc).

Agents gain experience about what it's like to be a teacher by gaining exposure to the world of education. It's a win-win relationship where teachers gain an extra pair of hands, and the Agent receives invaluable insight into teacher, school, and student life.

Of course. Our Agents can meet you at your local coffee shop for lunch, either afterschool, sometimes even before school and on the weekends. Our Agents are also fully available remotely. 

Privacy, alongside professionalism, is the most important for us. BeAstro never collects or sells any information. Our Agents keep everything confidential. Things that are between you, them, and the classroom stay that way. If an Agent needs help or advice from BeAstro staff or colleagues,  they reference make-up names of students to ensure privacy stays intact.  In case of any questions about our privacy policy, or break in privacy or confidentiality, we ask you to inform us right away. Our Agents can help support teachers between Grades 1-12 depending on the Agent's specialty, interest, and training. 

Our volunteers are vetted, dedicated, trained, and competent adults who are ready to work with students in your classroom.

Our course modules consist of topics in Education, Philosophy of Mind, and Psychology. These are created and reviewed by Master's level students and our PhD colleagues. Agents undergo a 2-month training period, acquiring essential lessons to deliver services with professional consistency. Additionally, they earn a CPR-C certification through a licensed provider.

We offer various services including classroom and leadership support, helping to create lesson plans with that extra touch that AI isn't able to provide, and much more. 

This service is completely free.
